As a skilled web designer, Manuel gradually switched to the field of web development and now builds cutting-edge responsive websites at eyeworkers. He developed his first theme for an Ext JS 4 application and has since created many themes for different Ext JS versions.
This whole-day training will take a look at all the tools and functionality Sencha gives you at hand when it comes to theming ExtJS applications, and provides a practical set of how-tos for creating styles and themes utilizing SCSS and the Sencha Themer.
The first part of the training will guide you through a step-by-step approach on what's necessary to build your own theme, and what you need to consider if you want to keep your themes maintainable and customizable. As an excursus, this first part will also teach you how to work with the oh-so-important official Sencha documentation regarding available styles and variables.
The second part of this training will give you a sample application at hand, in order to create your own theme during a practical workshop. Questions and tasks will be handed out by the trainers for you to implement and solve. At all time, the trainers will be at your hand in case you need help when working on those tasks.
Best practices regarding the practical part of the workshop will be demonstrated at the end of the day, giving you the chance for a side-to-side comparison of your approach with the one of the experts. Handouts summarizing important key-tasks will be available to all attendees at the end of the day.
This training is led by Manuel Künstler and Jan Mohr. We will provide more trainers if there is demand during the 2nd part of the training.
